How To Make Easy Rose Sangria Pitcher
This refreshing sangria rosé cocktail loaded with fruit is a great go-to drink to make for yourself, and a definite crowd pleaser for entertaining guests.
If you’d like to make the sangria ahead of time, I would recommend no more than a day in advance. Since rose sangria uses soft berries, they will disintegrate upon sitting too long.
Do not add the fizz, such as soda, 7UP, or ginger ale if you plan on having leftovers because it will become flat upon sitting. Ideally, top each glass with the fizz as you serve it.
- To begin, in a large pitcher, stir together rose wine, grapefruit juice, brandy, simple syrup, and triple sec. You will want to reserve the soda water or Sprite until you are ready to serve.
- Next, stir in all of the fruit. If you want, you can set some aside to add to the glass as a fun garnish for your tasty cocktail.
- Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least two hours. You can also refrigerate up to overnight as well.
- When serving add the sangria mixture into each glass and then top with 2 ounces of soda or Sprite. Garnish with additional fruit or mint leaves, if desired.
Leftover Wine? Make Sangria By the Glass!
If you find yourself in the mood for a fruity and delicious cocktail, but don’t want to tempt yourself with an entire pitcher – go ahead and make yourself a glass!
I also use this option for leftover wine that may not be as ideal to drink on its own or is about to go bad.
- First, muddle the fruit in the bottom of the glass. Pour in wine, grapefruit juice, simple syrup, and triple sec.
- Next, stir the ingredients and add ice, if you so desire.
- Lastly, pour in soda water, or Sprite, and enjoy. Cheers!
What Kind of Wine Can Be Used?
Sparkling sangria can be made with of variety of wines. Try a dry rosé, sparkling rosé or any dry white wine that you have on hand. The wine doesn’t have to be expensive, or high quality.
Sweeter wines, such moscato, sweet rosé, Riesling, or Gewurztraminer, may also be used. Please note, though, with the simple syrup, triple sec, and fruit juice the sangria does have plenty of sweetness in it.
If using a sweeter wine, you may want to omit the simple syrup to not overpower the sangria with sugary sweetness.
Using Different Liquors
Brandy is an inexpensive liquor that gives a more authentic taste, but it isn’t the only booze available to make a tasty sangria. Make sangria without brandy using your favorite liquor, or whatever you have on hand.
Consider giving these liquors a try in the same proportion as the brandy:
- Rum – Dark rum would pair well with pineapple juice and a white wine. Use light rum interchangeably with brandy as well.
- Vodka – Sangria with vodka is a great alternative if you don’t want have brandy on hand.
- Flavored vodkas – Try one of these flavors for a fun twist: orange, tangerine, raspberry, strawberry, vanilla, pear, black currant, grapefruit, apple, passion fruit, peach, pomegranate, mango, or white grape. You name it, they make a vodka flavor for it!
- Bourbon or whisky

Make It Sparkling
There is something about a carbonated drink that just screams summer time – and especially a carbonated drink loaded with fruit flavors! Some of our favorite options for sparkling floaters include lemon lime soda, prosecco, ginger ale, or soda water.
What Sweeteners Can Be Used?
- Simple syrup – To make simple syrup in the microwave, combine 1 cup water and 1 cup sugar in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave, uncovered, on high for 2 minutes, stirring halfway. Let the syrup cool completely before using. Simple syrup can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 months.
- Sugar
- Agave syrup
- Honey – Making honey syrup helps the sweetener to dissolve in the drink instead of clumping up. To make, combine 1 cup honey with 1/2 – 1 cup water in a small pot on the stove. Cook over low heat, stirring continually until well combined. Cool before using store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 months.
- Ginger Simple Syrup to add an extra boost of flavor!
