Hello and welcome! My name is Melissa Erdelac, and I’m thrilled you stumbled upon our cooking community!
We like to keep things simple, streamlined and tasty around here. Sound good? I’ll give you the down and dirty below.
First: Why Am I Going to Love this Site?
It’s going to be make you feel like a badass in the kitchen.
Want to sit down to a richly, tasteful homemade meal, but not spend a lot to time or effort making it? It’s on!
Just so we are all on the up and up, I need to let you in on a little secret. All the recipes are actually gluten-free, but hold up! No one, I mean no one, will realize they are sans gluten.Â
Years cooking for my large family and developing my gluten-free cookbook, honed my knack for using affordable, every day grocery store ingredients to make good ol’ comfort food meals the whole family devours. I like to tap into my midwestern roots and share recipes like your mom would make.
The only speciality ingredient I use is gluten-free flour. The recipes are adapted for traditional or gluten-free, unless it’s denoted to be specifically gluten-free in the title.
Sound good? Let’s move on.
Next: Let’s Get to Know Each Other More.
I live with my super cute hubs and four (also super cute) kids in northern Indiana, close to Lake Michigan and Chicago. It’s Indiana’s best kept secret, so keep it on the down-low.
My husband, Ryan, and I are currently in a that blissful stage of parenting where the kids actually want to be around us (perhaps too much). We take full advantage by requiring long family hikes, camping trips, and nightly dinners.
Then we offset all that family time with lots of date nights (because we are also at that blissful stage when they can stay home alone!)
If you really want to get all up in my business, go to my About Me page. Titillating stuff!Â
But what I really want to know is more about you! I respond to every comment and question. My recipes are here for you, so unless we become friends, I don’t know what to create for you! Help me, help you.Â
I spend a fair time (too much) on Instagram, so you can always hit me up there. Follow me for the latest recipes, behind the scenes footage, and to get a peek into our day-to-day lives.
If you’d like to keep our relationship strictly professional, Facebook and Pinterest are also good ways to get my latest seasonal content, without all the oversharing.
last: Let’s make it official.Â
Once a week I send out an email, but before you say, ‘no more emails!’ hear me out…
It will make YOUR life easier. Don’t know what to make for dinner? Done. Want to learn gluten-free cooking hacks and tricks. I got you!
