The Best Ginger Cocktail
The creator of of this pear cocktail comes from one of the best mixologists I know – my brother-in-law, John. He daylights as a surgeon mostly to afford numerous bar gadgets, ingredients, and glassware, but his true passion lies with concocting the best craft cocktail.
When John creates a winning recipe, he excitedly sends it off to his press secretary (me), and I have the honor of delivering it to the masses (you). He always strives for the perfect balance of flavors to appease his biggest critic (his wife).
It’s a winning situation all around, don’t you agree?

Pear Cocktails
There are various ways to incorporate pear into cocktails, such as a pear fizz cocktail, pear martini, or spiced pear drink. Many of these recipes use pear juice or pear nectar for flavor.
When making cocktails, I like the pare down the ingredients (Sorry, couldn’t resist.) Rather than buying additional juices and mixers, why not use the very essence of pear flavor?
Fresh pears are chopped and muddled at the bottom of the glass before filling with ice, vodka, ginger syrup, and ginger ale. I love how the fresh juice flavors the drink and there is spiked fruit to nosh on at the end!

Super easy to make. I used Bundaberg Ginger Beer and splash of seltzer water. I used 4 chopsticks and put a rubberband to keep together for a pestle. Love the muddled fresh pear!! Refreshing & yummy!!! Great end of summer to beginning of fall drink.
Hi Margaret,
The chopstick pestle trick is genius! You’re right this is the perfect time for this drink! Thank you for taking the time to write.
Best,
