Ingredients

Chuck Roast Large Onion Garlic | Hoagie Buns Beef Broth Beer | Celery Salt Worcestershire Sauce Dried Minced Onion Onion Powder Provalone Cheese

Season the roast, then put the Instant Pot on SAUTE mode. Place the beef inside it and sear each side for about 5 minutes, then set aside.

Let's Make It!

Add in the onions and garlic to the pot and cook until fragrant. Remove half of the onions and garlic and set aside.

Add in the liquids, seasonings and stir to mix. Then add the beef back in and cook on High pressure for 45 minutes, followed by a 25 minute natural release.

Remove the meat and shred., then set aside. Then strain the au jus sauce and set in a serving bowl.

Butter and toast the hoagie buns with cheese. Add the beef and serve with au jus!

Do I Need To Remove The Fat From The Au Jus?

The fat doesn’t have to be skimmed from the au jus. However, I find the broth a little oily if it is left in. Also, the flavor of the au jus shines through without the additional fat.
