Gluten-Free Fried Fish

Sometimes we just have to take matters into our own hands. You may not readily find gluten-free fish and chips on a restaurant menu, but that doesn’t mean you can never enjoy tender, flaky fish battered with a light, crispy coating again!

Ingredients

White Rice Flour White Fish Gluten-Free Flour Paprika | Egg Baking Powder Seasoned Salt Onion Powder Baking Soda | Cooking Oil GF Beer or Club Soda

Combine all of the ingredients for dredging in a ziplock bag and set aside. Then lay out your fish pieces and pat dry with a paper towel.

Let's Make It!

In a large bowl, combine all of the dry ingredients for the batter and whisk together.

While the oil is warming up, add your fish to the dredging bag and shake to evenly coat. Remove and dip into the batter mixture.

Add it to the oil pan to fry, about 3 minutes per side.

Transfer to warm oven while the rest of the fish cooks. Then serve and enjoy!

Important tip!

An important tip for making the best gluten-free fried fish is the addition of rice flour. Rice flour absorbs less fat and moisture than wheat flour so it fries up lighter and less dense.
